December Update, Finishing Storyboard Portfolio, newspaper comics, & more sketches

First  off, I've been pretty bad with update, since it takes up time. But lately I've done quite a lot since October, up to December.
The big storyboard portfolio project is almost being wrapped up. I hope to get the animatic ready, and have the storyboards all finalized (need to put the lyrics on the boards).
For now, you can see the boards right now on my Behance portfolio

Still working on Blue Fire. The newest page should be up on the smackjeeves site, and then Tapastic this Saturday. I managed to keep doing a page almost every 2 weeks. That's not bad, with how much time I've devoted mostly to my portfolio projects.

Speaking of portfolio, I am planning to develop yet ANOTHER portfolio for concept art design. This time with an emphasis on game concept design. Atlanta has become a potential hotspot for multimedia, especially for the game industry.

For a few months, I've volunteered to do comics for the ">Korean Baptist Press of theUSA" 침례신문 . I've been given permission to share the comics online. So here they are.
Now for some sketches. They've been mostly dinosaurs. Raptors, to be exact. I'm trying to get a good grasp of what Rokka would look like. Also trying to grasp the style I would end up drawing Rokka and Eli, if I ever decide to make a short series of comics. I would at least love to make some comic-prose of these two.
One day I had a sudden urge to draw from printed references of raptors, and I think I ALMOST know how to draw their heads.
Been trying to get the right hybrid of toon & anime look. Especially for the 3/4 head view.

Also, despite being mostly a fanart crossover, I had fun drawing Ethelmay and Asmod again. It was fun to explore my own characters in an already established world. I get to see how they would react and respond to the characters that are well-known. Sometimes this process helps me to define and shape my characters, so they'll be ready to star in their own worlds and stories (I don't own characters from "Strange Magic"). There's a detailed description on my deviantart.

Also made an impromptu video about old high-school art in my closet.

Inktober wrap-up, & more sketches.

First off, I didn't finish Inktober, because I had no time to deal to play catch-up, it was sucking up time, and my hand was cramping. So here's the remaining Inktober for this year.

Entire batch of gesture sketches are for Inktober day 16
The rest of the 3 below are Days 17-19

Blue Fire is still updating at snail pace.

In the mean \while, I finally got around to finishing that Patreon Promo video. Took a few weeks to draw, compile, record, and edit.
Now some sketches I did today while my family & I visited Tallulah Gorge. That place is one of my favorite parks and nature spots, next to Helen, Georgia.

Patreon, Late sketches, Inktober 2016

Just like in my previous post, yes I made a Patreon. It's a little something to help me keep "Blue Fire" going. I can't predict if any job I get will give me time to work on "Blue Fire," without sucking out the energy and creative juices by the end of the day. If you want to check it out, you can click here.

In the meanwhile, it's been WAY too long since I've uploaded any of my sketches. So get ready for the onslaught.
I wanted to experiment with Creon's design, and trying to make her more Asian like. But truth be told, it really wasn't necessary. Because honestly, Creon isn't a pure human. She's sort of bio-experiment, so genetics are only from her donor, or whatever genes & dna were thrown in. I figured that, unless her creators decided to give her a creepy, pale, Asian look, then no. She might as well keep her original design. Changing her ethnic look doesn't serve any purpose. It was still a nice little experiment. The pic references are from the Korean film "SUNNY", which is great.
Again, WAY too long since I drew these 2. I wanted to practice drawing them in their toon style. I really like it. I changed how her boots would wrap. Since they're magic, they sort of wrap around her securely. I had thought about adding more to Asmod's "mask" face. But I think adding more to his simple mask will be necessary.
This was long ago. I had finished it, but never got around to uploading. I like the hybrid style between my usual, toon, and anime. I have more fun drawing in that toon style.
AND THIS should have been uploaded when done. This is still an early design for Rokka (I think it's safe to say that will be his name). That and I wanted to practice baby Valentine. I'm going to have to draw some more and play around with her design. Heck, I need to draw more of the Lizard people, in my toon hybrid style. Drawing reptile and scaly people is kind of difficult. Still had fun drawing Valentine & Rokka.

Now it's time for inktober sketches: First 7 drawings are some of my favorite youtubers, entertainers, & content creators. Last 3 are "Stranger Things" fanart. By the way, "Stranger Things" is really amazing. I highly suggest watching it ^^

Well that's it. I'm currently working on making a decent portfolio to be eligible for cartoon industry jobs. That, or go hunt for another part-time job. I'll most likely be uploading more inktober sketches next week. Until then, take care and see you later.
